Boys and Girls Practice
We Practice Monday - Thursday at Salt Creek Golf Course from 3pm-5pm
Our games are played at various golf courses. Check out our schedule for time and locations this year.
First day of Girls Tryouts are August 10, 2015 at Salt Creek Golf Course. Start time is 3:05p.m - 4:50 p.m. All players must have school and doctor and school clearance before first day of tryouts. No Exceptions!!!

For Your Information:
Qualifying for the Barons Golf Team will occur the week of February 14 – 21 at Salt Creek. The golf team currently have only 4 returning players therefore, we have 3 varsity spots to fill. I encourage all students who are interested in learning the sport to come out and join our team. I Coach Bowman, am looking to start a novice team this year. If we have enough players to start a JV Team, they will play about 8 matches and the Varsity Team will play about 16 - 20 matches. The Varsity Team will play in the “Central Union High School Desert Classic / John Kirchenbauer Memorial” which will be held Friday April 24th at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday April 25th at 7:00 a.m. at Barbara Worth Golf Resort in Holtville, California. The tournament will be stroke play and consist of 5 players per team and all 5 scores count. Awards will be given for the lowest 2 – team scores, and lowest 5 individual scores. Show your support to the Boys Golf Team.

Questions normally asked are as follows:
1. When do the season start? The first official day of practice this year is February 14 and the day we can play a first match is February 19.
2. What days do we practice and have matches? We will practice two days a week and have two matches a week. Golfers will have golf obligations 4 days per week after school.
3. Where do we practice and have matches? We will practice at Salt Creek our home course/ and we have matches at many differ golf courses, Bonita, Eastlake, Chula Vista, Salt Creek and more.
4. How many matches do we play? We have 10 league matches and any other matches we schedules. It varies...we may have 1 tournament this year/our tournament will be in Holtville usually in late April. The schedule will be given to players and posted on the? site
5. Do the school provide a ride to the courses? Unfortunately, the school does not provide any transportation. The students drive themselves or the parents provide the ride.
6. What time do players leave school during match days? When there are matches players are released @ 12:30 to arrive at the course @ 1:30pm for a 2:30pm Tee-Off.
7. What time do the players get released during practice days? We practice from 3:00pm -5:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays normally, but could be on Mondays and Wednesdays depending on what day our match.
8.Who provide the golf equipment? All players have their own clubs...but coach may have some loaners.
9. Are students missing any classes? Yes, students are missing their last period class during match days. We encourage athletes to take PE for last period class or an elective.
10. What do I need to tryout / join the team? Contact coach Bowman via home page...or email. At this point we have five returning players. Most players have some experience in playing; however, novice freshman are evaluated on the course. We are always looking for good reliable players.

Mackayla Swanson plays in the CIF finals today at Cotton Wood Golf Course The Lakes . The address is 3121 Willow Glen Dr. El Cajon, CA 92019
Mackayla currently have an Index of 9.15 and maybe lower after her game this past Thursday. If Mackayla places in the top 10 today she will make 1st or 2nd team and perhaps advance on to the CIF Playoffs. Let's wish Mackayla (the freshman) a great game today.

Coaches – below are the results from yesterday’s league finals. Thanks for all the help in making it a success. I think we can be proud of all the young ladies who competed yesterday. They represented all the schools well. Please review the 1st and 2nd team ladies and make sure I have their correct school year. I will be sending in the paperwork for the All league certificates so you should see them by the 1st of the year. The results should be in tomorrow’s UT.
I forgot to mention it yesterday but the medals and plague were donated by Blackies Trophy’s and Awards on 3rd St. in Chula Vista. They have done this now for the last five years.
The seeding meeting is next Thursday (Oct 31) and I will notify you with the results regarding individuals for the CIF (Nov 5 is the first day of play at Adm Baker South Course.)
